If you like to experiment with a little (or a lot) of bondage play in the bedroom, then you may have discovered that finding quality equipment that is both durable and comfortable can often be very expensive. Many Velcro cuffs will run you $60 or more if you buy them at an adult toy store. But there’s no need to shell out that kind of cash in order to support your fetish. I’m going to show you an easy way to make a pair of bondage cuffs that are just as comfortable, durable and fun as anything you could buy in a store… but my way will only cost you a few dollars! All it takes is a little “Swingenuity“…
![]() Your Materials Materials:
You can buy 15 feet of industrial strength Velcro on Amazon for about $18. Make sure you buy industrial strength, as it really makes a huge difference when it comes the quality, durability and strength of the finished cuffs. Also, double-check that you are buying the adhesive backed velcro. |

Velcro 101
Inside your box of industrial strength Velcro you will find two different feeling 15-foot belts. One belt will feel soft and fuzzy. So we’ll refer to this as the “FUZZ” side . The other belt will feel rough and is covered in tiny hooks. So we’ll refer to this one as the “HOOK” side. ![]() Assuming that you ever owned a pair of sneakers in the late eighties, you probably already know what happens when you put those two different sides together. But this is not the wimpy Velcro that you used to fasten your shoes in middle-school. Industrial strength Velcro has incredible sticking power. As I learned the hard way, it’s not a great idea to test these cuffs out on yourself when there is nobody else around. They are surprisingly challenging to get out of! |
![]() Step 1. Step 1. Using those strips as an guide, cut two strips of identical length from the HOOK belt. It’s important to make sure that all of these strips are of identical length. |
![]() Step 2.
Use that as a length guide to cut an identical strip from the HOOK belt. So now you should have six strips in all. |
![]() Step 3.
WARNING! |
![]() Step 4.
Very carefully line up the other strip and slowly adhere the sticky sides of both strips to each other. When you are done you should have a double-sided belt which has both a FUZZ side and a HOOK side (See photo). |
![]() Step 5.
Take your double-sided belt from Step 4 and place it FUZZ SIDE UP directly in the middle of the longer strip’s adhesive. You want to make sure there is no more than 2-inches of overlap (See photo). |
![]() Step 6.
Once everything is lined up, press down firmly, making sure that everything is secure. |
![]() Step 7.
When you are done, you should have something that looks like a capital ‘H’… with a couple of extra limbs. |
![]() Step 8.
You will end up with a more traditional looking capital ‘H’. |
![]() Step 9.
There you have it! You’ve made your own pair of bondage cuffs! Well… actually, there is one more very important step… |
![]() Step 10. The most important step!
|
| But wait!… You’ve only used up about 3 feet of the Velcro in that box! You’ve still got 12 feet left to play with… I suggest making a 2nd pair of cuffs to use for ankle bondage. Hmm… but then you’ll still have about 9 feet left. What ever are we going to do with all that Velcro? I’ve got a few ideas… But I’ll save them for a future issue. So until then, remember… Build it… and they will cum! *These cuffs are fun, easy to make and great for lighter bondage play. But if you are serious about your BDSM practices, you may want to invest in some quality equipment as prolonged or rough BDSM play might cause even the fuzzy side of the velcro to become abbrasive and uncomfortableon the skin. |
