Swaying palm trees, hot sand, warm water, sexy bodies sunning themselves… it may sound like a tropical vacation, but it’s really just an hour and a half inland from Los Angeles. Located in Desert Hot Springs (an outlying area of Palm Springs), Sea Mountain Inn is a great getaway from the crowds and overcast of the city, whether for a day or a weekend.
The pool and jacuzzi are always the hot spot to be.
Upon arriving, the friendly staff met us at the courtyard door (a high wall surrounds the property) and whisked us to the registration area. The first thing we noticed was that the property seemed smaller than it looks in the pictures. But the second thing we quickly noticed is that we didn’t care! We shed our clothes and settled in to one of the many comfortable, padded chaise lounges scattered around the property. There we enjoyed a few cocktails, which the staff endlessly circulates around the resort. Next we headed to the pool and Jacuzzi.
The pool is the social epicenter for the resort. We found guests of every age and body type there. However we were impressed by the high number of really beautiful and fit people. Since Sea Mountain is located only a short drive from Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas, it is not uncommon for many of those cities young, beautiful and adventurous couples and single females to frequent the resort (Single males are not allowed). While not everyone there is a calendar model, the one thing that everyone had in common was that they were there to meet new friends and have fun. Meeting new friends at Sea Mountain was really easy. The sun, warm water, palm trees, exotic drink formulations and a wonderful atmosphere had a nice way of breaking inhibitions. It didn’t take long before new friendships turned to play. It was great to be in such a fun, friendly and comfortable environment where we could either sit back with our drinks and enjoy just being voyeurs, or join in on the fun.
Even the outdoor eating areas at Sea Mountain have an exotic and artistic flare.
The rooms were very clean, with great linens, and the soundproofing is excellent (With the loud rock music playing by the pool all day, it was needed.). Food was a bit of a challenge, as they were still building the kitchen when we visited and had to import all their food from elsewhere. The munchies they brought in were a tad carb heavy for a swingers crowd (bread, chips, etc); but there are several good restaurants near the resort, and unlimited dining 20 miles away in Palm Springs.
Come evening everyone migrated to the disco and the adjacent jacuzzi. The disco was small, but we’ve never really minded being packed in tight spaces with a bunch of other sexy couples. Around the dance floor are futons for lounging of playing, and of course a stripper pole… It was a great sexy atmosphere and the action continued until the late hours.
One of our Kasidie staff enjoys a mouthful of Bukaki.
The staff and owners are fun and do everything they can to ensure you have a great time… it’s obvious they really do care about their guests – even those only there on day passes. Beware the wandering Dewey Pest Control man offering Bukaki’s (exotic alcoholic concoction)!
Ah yes, a word about the art. The owners have travelled the world and brought home some of the most amazing sculptures and art works. We’re not talking about the tacky type of art that fills up space in most resorts, or generic erotic art that you’d expect at a lifestyle club, but really excellent museum quality pieces. It may be only a nuance, but it shows how deeply and passionately they feel about the environment they create for guests. Class and style score huge points with us.
Is it the same as Desire or Hedo? No, of course not. Sea Mountain is a boutique resort with owners that interact directly with guests. It’s in the California desert, a short drive from LA, and not on a beach or in a foreign country. So comparing it to the mega resorts is like comparing apples and orgies. Our advice? Go! Spend a day or two in the desert! It feels a million miles removed from the crush of Los Angeles. It will, without a doubt, recharge and refresh your spirits!
